Neighborhood

Keep in mind these are winding mountain roads. Many of the best attractions are spread out. The park is gorgeous but timely to navigate for first time flat-landers. There is no Cell Service once you're in the park so be prepared with maps or screen shots. There are no cabins inside the park other than the ones you may pass on certain hikes that are 100 years old and not inhabitable. It's a national park since 1934. PIGEON FORGE Parkway Light #3: 4.9 Miles GATLINBURG: 14 Miles CADES COVE: 30 miles. 1 hour 30 minutes to get there. The loop at Cade's cove is 10.6 miles. Drive it, rent a bike at the start and bike it, or run it. It is closed to cars and open to runners and cyclists Wednesday and Saturday mornings until 10:00am Early May to Late September. Gorgeous views, wildlife, and a pretty good chance you'll see a bear. CLINGMAN'S DOME: 38 Miles. This will take 3-4 hours round trip. There are plenty of amazing hikes at Newfound Gap on the way up such as Andrews Bald and "The Jump Off" and more hikes in the Clingman's Dome area. Those less adventurous should at the very least check out the observation tower at Clingman's dome. DOLLYWOOD: 10 Miles Easy Roads. Wears Valley Rd: 3.6 Miles The Apple Mill Barn: 4.4 Miles Tanger Outlet Malls: 4.8 Miles Titanic Museum: 4.2 Miles The Island Amusement Park: 5.1 Miles Rocky Top Harley Davidson: 4.9 Miles Wear Cove Gap (our secret park entrance): 11 Miles Foothills Parkway park entrance: 15 Miles Neyland Stadium Knoxville: 25 Miles 45 Minutes Gatlinburg park entrance: 15 Miles Omaha, NE: 940 Miles Starkville, MS: 421 Miles New York City: 703 Miles Nashville: 205 Miles Hikers! We like that it was secluded, but still close enough to town and to other people. I think we were like 18 minutes away from downtown Pigeon Forge. I don’t think there was anything that we didn’t like about the cabin.

Loved that it’s in a rural setting but close to all the amenities in the area. Very welcoming and homey feeling to the cabin! Check in process was very easy. The online guide was a great touch and had all the information that we could possibly need at our fingertips. Our only complaint, and we realize the owners have no control over it is that the roads leading to the cabin are narrow and sketchy in spots.

As far as the mountains go the journey to this cabin is effortless. The driveway is a bit steep but if you've been to the area before you'll have no trouble. It is possible that 4-wheel drive may be needed in inclement winter weather. Or just stay in the cabin and watch the snow melt. We do not offer refunds for weather. While snow is rare, our winter guests hope for it as it makes the mountains more beautiful. We give the cabin 4 out of 10 (1 being flat 10 being the top of the mountain) as far as winter accessibility.
